Naspers today announced the retirement of George Coetzee, its company secretary since 1998. Naspers also announced that Gillian Kisbey-Green, currently company secretary of the MIH group, will, in addition to her current responsibilities, take over as Naspers group company secretary with effect from 1 September 2008.

George started his career with Naspers in 1983 as group training manager. In 1998, when he was appointed company secretary, he headed the human resources function of the group. After his formal retirement later this year, George will retain an advisory capacity on a part-time basis.

Gillian Kisbey-Green joined M-Net in 1992 and has been the company secretary of the MIH group of companies since 1994. She holds a CA(SA) qualification and was involved in a number of listings, delistings and corporate actions undertaken by the group. In her current role she is responsible for Naspers’s local and international listing issues.

Mr Ton Vosloo, chairman of Naspers Limited, said: “The group is really fortunate to have the calibre of people like George and Gillian. We wish them well in their new roles.”
