Naspers announces winners of 2017 Founder and Innovation Awards

Naspers announces winners of 2017 Founder and Innovation Awards Cape Town, South Africa, 15 September 2017 - Naspers, a global internet and entertainment group and one of the largest technology investors in the world, has announced the winners of its annual Founder and Innovation Awards. The awards recognise the outstanding performance of company founders, leaders, and engineers from across the group.
Each year, winners are selected from the broad pool of Naspers’ companies, which operate in more than 120 countries across the world. The 2017 winners were announced at a special awards presentation during the Naspers Global Summit, taking place in Beijing.
The Founder Award recognises the outstanding contribution to the Naspers group of a company founder or leader. Recipients have achieved exceptional growth in their business, through perseverance, hard work, and innovation.
Naspers is pleased to announce two Founder Award winners in 2017:
  • Ashish Kashyap (Founder of ibibo Group and President of MakeMytrip)
  • Iulian Stanciu (CEO of eMAG)
“I am honoured to receive this award, which recognises the contributions, innovations and relentless drive of every member of the ibibo team over the past 10 years, culminating in our merger this year with MakeMyTrip,” said Ashish Kashyap, Founder of ibibo Group and President of MakeMytrip.
“This award is recognition for both the entire eMAG team and also the great talent pool in Romania. Naspers is the enabler for our success through knowledge sharing and inspiration,” said Iulian Stanciu, CEO, eMAG.
The Innovation Award is presented to top performing engineers who have built the most innovative products for their customers.

  • Chris de Kock (MultiChoice)
  • William Nel (MultiChoice)
  • Milosh Stolikj & Dmitri Jarnikov (Irdeto)
