Our Classifieds segment empowers the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy by enabling multiple use cycles for second-hand products.

Our classifieds platforms have the mission to make the most of what already exists in the world. We know that the world’s current system of consumption is not sustainable. To disrupt the current linear take-make-dispose system, we want to shift as many people as possible to a more sustainable (circular) way of consumption.

A circular economy is more than recycling. It enables consumers to live the lives they want without negatively impacting the environment. A critical element is keeping products in use for longer by extending their product life. Our classifieds platforms make this possible by facilitating the trade of second-hand products. Classified platforms unlock the value of everything a consumer uses, creating a positive space where we use a significantly smaller quantity of materials and produce much less waste by avoiding the need for new products.

Since 2019, classifieds platform OLX has taken the lead in calculating the environmental contribution of the trade of second-hand products.
